Description
The Sheppard Law Firm | Fort Myers, Florida
Build a Career—Not Just a Job—in High-Level Estate and Tax Planning
The Sheppard Law Firm is seeking an Associate Estate Planning Attorney with 1–5 years of experience who is ambitious, intellectually curious, and committed to developing a long-term career in sophisticated estate and tax planning.
We are a boutique firm serving high-net-worth individuals, retirees and semi-retirees, and multi-generational families, with a strong emphasis on strategic planning, tax efficiency, and advanced wealth-transfer techniques. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated attorney who wants hands-on experience, direct client interaction, and mentorship in complex planning—not a document-processing role.
What You’ll Do
- Work directly with clients to design and implement customized estate, tax, and wealth-transfer plans
- Draft and review estate planning documents, including revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, and advanced planning structures
- Learn and apply federal estate, gift, income, and generation-skipping transfer tax principles in real-world planning scenarios
- Collaborate closely with senior attorneys on sophisticated planning strategies for high-net-worth families
- Utilize and help optimize HotDocs-style drafting systems (e.g., WealthDocs) and other legal technology
- Leverage AI tools responsibly and effectively to improve efficiency, accuracy, and client service
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, advisors, and team members—both verbally and in writing
