Description
Benn Law Group, a Bryan/College Station based law firm, has an immediate opening for an associate attorney. Our firm is well established in Brazos County and surrounding areas but provides opportunities to practice throughout the state. We are committed to providing quality legal services to our clients in a wide range of transactional and litigation matters, with a focus on real estate, probate, business, estate planning, and guardianship. Our office is a close-knit team that places high value on integrity, responsiveness, community and results. The salary and benefits for this position are commensurate with the applicant's experience, but includes bonus opportunities, paid holidays, paid time off, CLE and bar dues, health insurance, vision insurance, dental insurance, 401(k) matching and mentorship from attorneys with over four decades of experience.
Requirements
Position Requirements:
1. Active license and in good standing with the Texas State Bar (newly licensed attorneys are encouraged to apply)
2. Excellent research/writing skills
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
4. A solid foundation from law school or prior practice in discovery, motions, and trial work
5. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
6. Detail oriented with a commitment to providing excellent service to clients
7. Ability to work in person during traditional core working hours, but with flexibility as needed
8. Strong organizational and time management abilities
9. Commitment to professionalism, community service and ethics
10. Desire to be in the courtroom on a regular basis
Responsibilities:
1. Manage his or her own case load while also assisting senior attorneys in ongoing matters
2. Represent clients in legal proceedings including hearings, mediations, and trials
3. Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
4. Provide legal analysis and develop case strategies
5. Communicate and interact directly with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties
