ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY —Business, Construction, Consumer, Creditor-Debtor, Insurance, Contracts, Transactional, Wills-Trusts-Probate. Litigation: Business, Construction, Commercial, Real Estate.
Location: El Paso, Texas | Position Type: Full-time | On-Site.
The Opportunity
We seek a motivated and skilled Associate Attorney licensed to practice in Texas, with 2-3 years of experience to join our business, real estate, and construction litigation practice. We handle a diverse docket of civil litigation matters, work closely with clients, and thrive in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, comfortable with motion practice, and willing to take cases to trial with appropriate supervision and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a litigation docket from intake through resolution, including discovery, motion practice, mediation, trial preparation and litigation.
- Draft pleadings, dispositive and non-dispositive motions, discovery requests/responses, and trial materials.
- Conduct legal research and develop clear, persuasive written legal memoranda.
- Participate in hearings, depositions, alternative dispute resolution and, when appropriate, trials.
- Communicate effectively with clients, adversaries, experts, and the court.
Required Qualifications
- Active Texas law license (required). New Mexico law license (beneficial or preferred).
- Active Texas bar membership in good standing.
- 2–3 years of litigation experience with a focus on business disputes, real estate matters, and construction litigation. We will mentor and train a qualified candidate.
- Demonstrated excellence in legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Hands-on motion practice experience (e.g., motions, summary judgment, Daubert/Robinson, pleading challenges).
- Willingness and readiness to take cases to trial with partner guidance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
Preferred Experience
- Case management in state and federal courts.
- Depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and experts.
- Experience with construction contracts, lien/bond claims, and real property disputes.
- Client counseling and strategy development for commercial matters.
