Belt, Bruner & Barnett, P.C., is seeking an Associate Attorney for a research- and writing-focused litigation role in its Birmingham, Alabama practice. FIRM OVERVIEW
Belt, Bruner & Barnett, P.C., is a Birmingham-based plaintiff’s litigation firm handling complex personal injury matters of all types, as well as high-stakes insurance bad-faith litigation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct in-depth legal research;
- Draft motions and briefs in a timely and efficient manner, with attention to accuracy, clarity, and persuasion; and
- Assist with and, where appropriate, take primary responsibility for dispositive motions, trial evidentiary issues, and appellate briefing and argument.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Active membership in good standing with the Alabama State Bar;
- 2–6 years of litigation experience preferred;
- Demonstrated strength in legal research and persuasive writing;
- Experience drafting substantive motions and briefs'
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; and
- Ability to timely and efficiently manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
PREFERRED (but Not Request)
- Experience in complex tort litigation;
- Federal court briefing experience;
- Appellate or post-judgment motion experience; and
- Prior clerkship or law review experience.
