Description
KAUFMAN VIDAL HILEMAN ELLINGSON PC is seeking two full-time associate attorneys to join their general practice firm in Kalispell, Montana. Hired associates will handle both general litigation cases and general practice files. Hired associates will be required to resolve legal disputes on behalf of clients by managing litigation, negotiating settlements, and advocating in court.
Positions are available immediately, with flexible start dates. Those sitting for the summer 2026 Bar exam are encouraged to apply, as positions will remain open until filled. Applicants seeking part-time or partial remote working opportunities may be considered.
Compensation package includes a competitive base salary, employer-provided health insurance, paid vacation/holiday/sick leave, a matching simple IRA program, short-term disability, and life insurance through Principal Financial, mentorship, and an opportunity for a performance-based bonus under the firm’s Associate Incentive Program.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support to clients and assist other attorneys in the firm
- Maintain client relationships
- Prepare legal reports and documents
- Negotiate resolutions on behalf of clients

Qualifications
- Montana bar license
- At least one year of experience clerking or practicing law (clinical or intern experience may qualify)
- Exceptional Writing Skills
- Strong legal knowledge base
- Technologically proficient in Microsoft products
