Position: Family Law Attorney
Location: Brodheadsville, Pennsylvania (Monroe County)
Firm: Merwine, Hanyon & Kaspszyk, PLLC (MHK Attorneys)
About Us
We are a well-established Monroe County firm with a strong litigation and transactional practice, including a growing family law docket. Our office in Brodheadsville serves clients throughout the Poconos and surrounding counties. We are looking for a capable, courtroom-comfortable family law attorney who wants to build a serious practice in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in Pennsylvania family law matters, including:
- Divorce (economic claims, APL/alimony, equitable distribution)
- Custody and visitation
- Child and spousal support
- PFAs and related hearings]
- Handle all aspects of case management:
- Client intake and counseling
- Drafting pleadings, motions, petitions, discovery, and agreements
- Negotiating settlements and participating in conferences
- First-chair appearances at conciliations and hearings
- Work collaboratively with other attorneys and staff in the firm on overlapping issues (real estate, business, estate planning, etc.) that intersect with family law.
Minimum Qualifications
- Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar, in good standing.
- 3+ years of experience in Pennsylvania family law (or a strong mix of litigation with meaningful family law exposure).
- Prior practice in Monroe, Lehigh, Northampton, Luzerne, Lackawanna or other NEPA counties strongly preferred.
- Must reside within 40 minutes of MHK Attorneys Brodheadsville office.
- Demonstrated experience:
- Drafting family law pleadings and motions
- Handling support and custody matters from intake through resolution
- Appearing in court and at conferences
