Associate Attorney
Location: Maumee, Ohio
Firm: Barkan & Robon, Ltd.
Barkan & Robon is a long-standing Maumee law firm with a busy and growing civil litigation practice serving clients throughout Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. We are seeking an Associate Attorney who seeks real responsibility, regular courtroom experience, and the opportunity to grow alongside experienced trial lawyers.
What You’ll Do
You will work closely with partners on a wide range of civil litigation matters from intake through resolution, including:
- Drafting and responding to pleadings, motions, and written discovery
- Appearing in state and federal courts for hearings, conferences, and other proceedings
- Assisting with depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation
- Conducting legal research and drafting memoranda, briefs, and appellate filings
- Managing case files, deadlines, and communication with clients and co-counsel
- Supporting partners in moving cases efficiently from inception through trial, arbitration, and appeal
This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on litigation experience—not just document review.
What We’re Looking For
- Licensed in Ohio, or eligible to obtain Ohio Bar admission within six (6) months of hire
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines Professional, responsive, and able to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and desire for professional development
- Ability to meet or exceed monthly billable hour requirements
- Law review, moot court, or similar high-level writing/advocacy experience preferred, but not required
