The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Assistant City Attorney I - Criminal Division within the City Attorney's Department.

Under the general direction of the City Attorney, is responsible for representing the City on all matters heard in, and appealed from, the Henderson Municipal Court; reviews complaints for prosecutorial merit; drafts motions and pleadings; drafts City ordinances; and performs related duties as assigned.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
- The salary range for this position is $81,988.00 - $125,013.47 annually.
- Salary placement for non-represented positions is based on a comprehensive compensation review and takes into consideration the candidate's qualifications as well as internal equity.

Requirements
- Juris Doctorate from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school
- Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Nevada and be in good standing with all State Bars to which he/she is licensed to practice law
- Must pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check, and a wants/warrants check.
- Must complete Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six months of hire/transfer and be recertified every two years. Must maintain certifications in NCIC/NCJIS as a condition of continued employment.
- Desirable: Trial and courtroom experience
- Desirable: Municipal government experience
